Does anybody else have pizza tiers? Our's goes supermarket savers ~ supermarket standards ~ branded supermarket zas (Goodfella's & the lot) ~ cheap crappy takeaway ~ American-style chains (we're talking Pizza Hut & Papa John's) ~ think-they're-fancy chains (Pizza Express etc.) ~ independent hipster sourdough pizzerias ~ fly to Naples for a Neapolitan dream. & where do One Planet stand in all of this? 100% independent pizzeria perfection BUT in the cosy comfort of home AND which are always on hand, living in your freezer ... for whenever you're craving doughy delights.
who are One Planet Pizza?
Ethically grown by family & crowdfunding, One Planet is the UK's 1st frozen vegan pizza company with kitchens in Norwich but pizzas in Ocado, Whole Foods, Booths & tonnes of independent stores near you! It's all down to generous community that One Planet can be in our tums as back in 2016, it was a crowdfunding campaign which donated enough dough to start also the UK's 1st crowdfunded 100% vegan company!

Pizzas aside, the best thing about One Planet is their conscious commitment to our Earth. Not only are they 100% vegan, the pizza wrap is just as recyclable as the beautiful box & also made from recycled materials. If I pick up a frozen pizza for a speedy meal, I feel guilty about the plastic tray it sits on & wrap it clings to which has all been packaged in a factory that mass produces all kinds of food. The price may be a little higher than a supermarket margherita but by choosing One Planet, you also choose support for independent companies, investment in veganism & most importantly... the environment! The packaging my pizzas arrived in was upcylced from local health stores, was reusable & so sustainable!

↠ MEDITERRANEAN ROASTED VEGETABLE ~ on top of an absolutely DOUGHlightful artisan wholemeal & white flour base is a wonderfully herby & slighty garlicy tomato sauce that tastes SO lovingly homemade. The roasted peppers, onions, aubergine & courgette still contain all their fresh flavours (unlike the soggy veg you find on other frozen pizzas!) mixed with the juicy goodness of olives & the tomato sauce. For me, the luxuriously melted VBites Cheezly just topped it all off. I'm so glad One Planet chose Cheezly because it doesn't overpower the fresh veggies with artificial dairy-ness but instead adds a subtle creamy taste that makes this doughy pizza the ultimate delish (yet still nutritious!) comfort food.
↠ EXOTIC FUNGHI FEAST ~ gorgeously roasted garlic mushrooms (from Shiitake to Oyster) paired perfectly with juicy cherry tomatoes on an artisan base. I loved this one for a more 'meaty' slice with the tender, fleshy shrooms! & again the mature cheddar Cheezly melted beautifully unlike so many other plant cheezes. Bethan, who loves dairy cheese, even said how fab it was & that she'd definitely buy some to grate over homemade zas!
↠ HAWAIIAN ~ & saving Bethan's favourite 'til last, the hearty Hawaiian with scattered VBites' VegiDeli Ham pieces, red onion, pineapple & mature cheddar. She'd never tried pineapple on pizza before (can you believe it?!) but ended up loving the combo ~ I personally love the textures of fleshy fruit, chewy mock ham & smooth cheeze all toppled on a bite of springy dough! We found this base was a little thinner than the Med Veg (& doesn't have a mix of flours) which Bethan preferred but tasted just as fresh & delish!
One Planet also have a Three Cheezly Margherita (with mature cheddar, red cheddar & mozzarella) & a gluten free version too! All of these circles of perfection are sprinkled with added flaxseed & chia to help give us vegans an omega-3 boost & all have NO artificial colourings or preservatives ... that's why they taste so fresh & light! Compared to meat & dairy pizzas, One Planet have at least 50% less sugar & salt which is just another reason why choosing vegan is not only kind for our planet & sentient friends, but for our bods too! Of course, it's 100% okay to eat foods with a higher fat, sugar or salt content sometimes (& brilliant for our mental & physical health to experience & get used to variety) but if you're fancying a tasty but not-so-food-baby-bloated pizza, these are the ones for you!
